Show panel on click - c#

please for a little help in displaying the panel at the click of a button, namely in my application I have a FormMenu in which the panelCentralForm is displayed when loading.
When I click on btnListOfActiveUser_Click I manage to open FormListStaff over panelCentralForm using this code:
private void btnListOfActiveUser_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
FormListStaff formListStaff = new FormListStaff();
AddFormToPanel(formListStaff);
}
private void AddFormToPanel(object form)
{
if (this.panelCentralForm.Controls.Count > 0)
this.panelCentralForm.Controls.RemoveAt(0);
Form fh = form as Form;
fh.TopLevel = false;
fh.FormBorderStyle = FormBorderStyle.None;
fh.Dock = DockStyle.Fill;
this.panelCentralForm.Controls.Add(fh);
this.panelCentralForm.Tag = fh;
fh.Show();
}
my question is how can I in a similar way that now when I click on buttonDashboard to return to me the first view, ie the view from the Central Form panel (panelCentralForm).
private void buttonDashboard_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
panelCentralForm.Visible = true; //something like this, p.s. this code doesn't just work as an example I wrote
}
the whole view belongs from FormMenu.cs
Thanks a lot to everyone for the help

my question is how can I in a similar way that now when I click on
buttonDashboard to return to me the first view
Just Clear() the panel, then add the label back in?
this.panelCentralForm.Controls.Clear();
this.panelCentralForm.Controls.Add(label1);
The label should still be accessible even though it was previously removed from the panel since it is declared at form level in your designer file.

SOLVED: How can I open a User Control WinForm with a dropdown button click from a WinForm in devexpress C# project?

I have a winform named "QuickMenu". This QuickMenu form contains collapse and expands buttons. Please check the attachment screenshot.
I want to open a User Control WinForm by clicking the button on the "QuickMenu" form. I have written the following code in QuickMenu.cs:
Public partial class QuickMenu : Form
{
private CollectionReport collection;
}
public QuickMenu()
{
InitializeComponent();
collection = new CollectionReport();
}
private void resCollection_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
collection.Dock = DockStyle.Fill;
this.Controls.Add(collection);
timer1.Start();
}
Note: This code is written for the "Collection" button.
After writing this code, the output is the following screenshot.
How can I show the User Control in full screen?
The User Control is supposed to look like:
Note: Orders, Collection, Delivery and Setup buttons are in another form named "AllSettingsForm". And also, this button has a separate form that is called into the AllSettingsForm. Look at the solution, and I hope you will understand what I mean.
Replace your default constructor by below code
public dataContext() : base("name=DefaultConnection")
{
}
If you are using .NET Core then try this:
public dataContext(DbContextOptions dbContextOptions): base(dbContextOptions)
{
}
Write the following code for the resCollection_Click button. This is the solution I found and the following code works for me.
private void resCollection_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
collection.Dock = DockStyle.Fill;
AllSettingsForm allSettings = new AllSettingsForm();
allSettings.Controls.Add(collection);
this.collection.Visible = true;
this.collection.BringToFront();
allSettings.Show();
timer1.Start();
}

C# Windows form new page

I'm trying to make a button on my windows form create a new page when clicked, something like when you are going through an installation of a program and you would click "Next" and it would take you to a new page but not bring up an entirely seperate window. I would also have another button that would be pressed to bring up the original form.
I've looked everywhere for a answer to this so any help on how I would create this would be greatly appreciated.
private void Cleaning_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
// executes new page
}
What you want to do is to create a wizard. There are lot of samples on internet regarding that. Take a look;
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/31770/Wizard-Form-Implementation
Or
You can see that SO question
Creating Wizards for Windows Forms in C#
One simple way is to use panels in a single form. The only problem with panels is that it is hard to edit the layout and also your code would become very messy.
it IS simple BUT has a very bad downside
Simply we can add one groupbox and add your controls, in form load set groupbox visible to false and button click event visible to true something like....
private void Form3_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
groupBox1.Visible = false;
}
private void button1_Click_1(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (button1.Text == "&Show")
{
button1.Text = "&Hide";
groupBox1.Visible = true;
}
else if (button1.Text == "&Hide")
{
button1.Text = "&Show";
groupBox1.Visible = false;
}
}

Designing a dynamic panel

I am new to C# and I want to design a GUI for a image processing application in c#. I have a very basic rudimentary layout designed as shown below
Here, the image plane is fixed and it will show a live stream video. I have designed all the buttons frame and the side panel. But I do not know how to dynamically change the side panel for each button I click. For example, If I click button1_1, I want some things in the side panel and for button1_2, some other things in it. How do I go about doing it.
EDIT:
Thanks for the answers. I see tab controls is an option. But I want a new panel evertime a click a button. which can further open forms. Is it possible?
OK, let's see. It's easy to do with "TabControl" or array of "Panel"s.
1.Do it with TabControl.
You can design GUI in TabControl in multiple subTabs(if you don't know how please ask.). Then you change it in button click event, to make subTab you wanna show(which means make it visiable and not visiable for other subTabs.)
2.Do it with array of panel.
You can use panel[] panels. In button click event, you hide other panels and show the one you want.
Hope answer helps you!
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
tabControl1.SelectedIndex = 0;
tabControl1.TabPages[0].Text = "First";
}
private void button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
tabControl1.SelectedIndex = 1;
}
private void button3_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
tabControl1.SelectedIndex = 2;
}
you may want to add split container in your form.
Create UserControl for each buttons.
Code for the button click event
//Button1Click Event
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
UserControl1 m_UserControl = new UserControl1();
splitContainer1.Panel2.Controls.Clear();
splitContainer1.Panel2.Controls.Add(m_UserControl);
}
//Button2Click Event
private void button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
UserControl2 m_Usercontrol2 = new UserControl2();
splitContainer1.Panel2.Controls.Clear();
splitContainer1.Panel2.Controls.Add(m_Usercontrol2);
}
you can do this if you want to change what usercontrol display in a panel at run time.
Correct me if i misunderstood your question.
In WinForms, you could use a tab control and just change the selected tabs index when a button is pressed. More specifically, when its click event is fired. Here is a good tutorial on using the TabControl and here is a tutorial on wiring up click events.
EDIT:
This is a better tutorial.
Since you can't hide the tabs of a tabcontrol without using WPF, you may need to use something else, if you don't like the way they look. A good workaround if you only have a couple of buttons and thus views, would be to use panels. When button one is clicked show panel one and hide panel two, etc. Here would be the code:
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
pane2.visible = false;
pane1.visible = true;
}
private void button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
pane1.visible = false;
pane2.visible = true;
}
Hope this helps you!

Can I load a new form into panel?

I am working on Windows Application.I am having a menustrip in one form and I want to ask that, can I have a panel which will load new form on particular click of menustripitem.
Ex:
File Data
ABC Hello
XYZ Bye
These is my menu bar.On click of ABC I dont want to go on different form can I do something
(whatever I want to)on the same form using panel.
Thanks
I think that I had the same question.
But I found the answer for it
CodeProject Example
First you have to configurate the Form:
myForm.FormBorderStyle = FormBorderStyle.None;
And then, manipulates the action:
Form1 myForm = new Form1();
myForm.TopLevel = false;
myForm.AutoScroll = true;
frmMain.Panel2.Controls.Add(myForm);
myForm.Show();
Hope to help you. Hugs :D
You can use MDI Form.
Try something like this
//Create a new instance of the MDI child template form
Form2 child= new Form2();
//Set parent form for the child window
child.MdiParent=this;
//Display the child window
child.Show()
you can also refer to this site.
If you put the whole content of the target form into a UserControl, you can add a panel to your main form and place the UserControl on that panel.
You still have option to display a separate form by creating an empty form and placing the same UserControl on that form, too.
As Int3 ὰ already points out, you could use MDI forms instead. However, if you want to use dockable panels, the UserControl would be the way to go.
Add two panels on your form, only one will be visible at the same time. Then, add two events on your menus:
private void ABCToolStripMenuItem_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) {
panelABC.Visible = true;
panelXYZ.Visible = false;
}
private void XYZToolStripMenuItem_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) {
panelABC.Visible = false;
panelXYZ.Visible = true;
}
private void pbxpurchase_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
contentpnl.Controls.Clear();//contentpnl is the panelname
purchasebook purchasebk = new purchasebook();//purchasebook is a formname
purchasebk.TopLevel = false;
purchasebk.AutoScroll = true;
contentpnl.Controls.Add(purchasebk);
purchasebk.Dock = DockStyle.Fill;
purchasebk.Show();
}
try this 100% tested

Windows Forms C#

I am learning windows forms and can create a one form with textboxes and stuff, but I was wondering how can I change the form upon let's say clicking a button?, so for instance my initial form has a textbox and a button, if the button is clicked I want to show a form with a dropdown and a button. SO the question should be:
1) How do I change the form upon clicking a button but without creating a new instance of the form.
2) If I wanted, how can I add a form when the button is clicked showing the same drop down and button as a pop up form?
In reality I would like to know both cases, changing the form via using the same form and via popping a new form on top.
Should the questions not be clear, I am willing to further explain
Thank you
I'm assuming you already know how to add controls in the form designer and how to implement event handlers.
Question 1
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (comboBox1.Visible)
{
comboBox1.Visible = false;
textBox1.Visible = true;
}
else
{
comboBox1.Visible = true;
textBox1.Visible = false;
}
}
The button click handler simply toggles the visibility of the two controls.
Question 2
private void button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Form1 form = new Form1();
form.ShowDialog();
}
This time the button handler instantiates a new form an then shows it as a modal dialog. Call Show() if you don't want to show modally.
