I have this code :
[FindsBy(How = How.CssSelector, Using = "#openDocumentsSelector")]
private IWebElement BTNOpenDocumentsSelector { get; set; }
public void AddNewFile(DocumentsTestValues new_upload)
{
this.BTNOpenDocumentsSelector.SendKeys("TestUploadDocument.txt");
}
And i get this error:
unknown error: cannot focus element
Make sure that button is visible on the screen,
has visible style and does not hide by any other element.
If not - try to scroll view to the button position.
Also, your link can be obsolete at the moment of sending keys, try to refresh (just try to find and select it again).
And also like said #pcalkins try to use the full path to the file.

I'm new in using mshtml package library from .NET and, as such, I'm struggling to read the input element rendered in WPF web browser control.
I have researched through the internet and stumbled on this link. How to get the value of an input box of the webbrowser control in WPF?
But in my case, I want to read/get the input element by class, not by name attribute. Unfortunately, I know that GetElementByClass is not an option in WebBrowser.Document
This is my code - When I tried to run the debugger, the code doesn't continue inside the foreach loop ):
private void browser_LoadCompleted(object sender, NavigationEventArgs e)
{
IHTMLElementCollection elementCollection;
IHTMLDocument3 dom = (IHTMLDocument3)browser.Document;
elementCollection = dom.getElementsByTagName("input");
foreach (HtmlElement item in elementCollection)
{
if (item.OuterHtml.Contains("input_search"))
{
//Do something else here...
}
}
}
A screen capture of the DOM of the page
Any help is greatly appreciated.
My web page is little lengthy and the SAVE button is at the top right-hand corner. As I input the data through Protractor.NET, the webpage scrolls down which hides the SAVE button, thereby throwing a Element is not clickable at a point error. Now inorder to save the webpage, I need to scroll up and then find the SAVE button and click it.
I have an example in Protractor which uses window.scrollTo(0,0), but how do I implement the same in Protractor.NET
EDIT: Included code
public void Test()
{
var saveBtn = NgWebDriver
.FindElement(By.ClassName("btnSave"))
.FindElement(By.ClassName("Save"));
var btnSv = Scroller(saveBtn);
btnSv.Click();
}
public IWebElement Scroller(IWebElement element)
{
((IJavaScriptExecutor)NgWebDriver).ExecuteScript("arguments[0].scrollIntoView();", element);
return element;
}
So the exception occurs in Scroller method while casting the NgWebDriver to IJavaScriptExecutor type
How can I accomplish this?
Finally got the solution to scrolling up to the top in Protractor.NET
Had referred the link and was able to solve my problem.
The below code worked for me.
IWebDriver driver = MyWebDriver.WrappedDriver;
IJavaScriptExecutor jse = (IJavaScriptExecutor)driver;
jse.ExecuteScript("scroll(0, -250);");
Why do you want to make it complicated?
If you want to scroll to an element you can use this simple method:
public IWebElement ScrollToElement(IWebElement webElement)
{
((IJavaScriptExecutor)Driver).ExecuteScript("arguments[0].scrollIntoView();", webElement);
return webElement;
}
The below code helped me to achieve the same.
IJavaScriptExecutor jse = (IJavaScriptExecutor)NgDriver;
jse.ExecuteScript("arguments[0].scrollIntoView()", webElement);
I tried to find any solution but nothing is not helped me.
I have this element
<span data-lkd="GUI-411396" data-lkta="tc" data-lkda="title" class="panelbar_item" title="Hledat">Form</span>
In Selenium I find it with
IWebElement form = GetElementAndWaitForEnabled(By.CssSelector("span[data-lkd=\'GUI-411396\']"));
It's not problem to this part. But if try click on this element in IE11 nothing happend
find.Click()
I tried some solution like:
driver.SwitchTo().Window(driver.CurrentWindowHandle);
find.SendKeys(Keys.Enter);
find.Click();
But nothing happend. In Chrome and Firefox is normaly click on element.
If I clik in other elements for example button it works on IE 11. But I need click on this element.
I'm using Selenium v2.46.0, IE 11 (x86, x64).
With IE, it's always something extra you should do. Try this "special" trick:
IJavaScriptExecutor js = driver as IJavaScriptExecutor;
js.ExecuteScript("arguments[0].click();", find)
It looks like you are trying to click on a span element. Instead of using a work around to click on the span element and trying to get the desired effect, try checking to see if it is wrapped in an anchor element or input / button element.
As an aside a good practice is to remember to always scroll the element into view, an example wrapper function would be:
public static void clickElementAsUser(WebDriver driver, By by)
{
WebElement element;
try
{
element = driver.findElement(by);
scrollElementIntoView(driver, element);
Thread.sleep(100); //Wait a moment for the element to be scrolled into view
element.click();
}
catch(Exception e) //Could be broken into multicatch
{
//Do Something
}
}
public static void scrollElementIntoView(WebDriver driver, WebElement element)
{
try
{
((JavascriptExecutor)driver).executeScript("arguments[0].scrollIntoView(true);", element);
}
catch(Exception e)
{
//Do Something
}
}
If you post a small code sample of what is aroudn the span I may be able to help further. Goodluck!
I'm trying to create a simple listbox with ObjectListView (WinForm, C#). The goal is to have a single value (a double) and a check box.
I want to be able to edit the double value by Single Click, so here are the relevant lines of code from my MyWindow.Designer.cs file (i've left out the default values for efficiency):
this.olvDepths = new BrightIdeasSoftware.ObjectListView();
this.olvColumn1 = ((BrightIdeasSoftware.OLVColumn)(new BrightIdeasSoftware.OLVColumn()));
...
this.olvDepths.CellEditActivation = BrightIdeasSoftware.ObjectListView.CellEditActivateMode.SingleClick;
this.olvDepths.CheckBoxes = true;
this.olvDepths.CheckedAspectName = "IsDefault";
this.olvDepths.FullRowSelect = true;
//
// olvColumn1
//
this.olvColumn1.AspectName = "Depth";
this.olvColumn1.Text = "";
this.olvColumn1.IsEditable = true;
I then create a list of my class (ShieldingEntry) and use the olvDepths.SetObjects() with the list. My ShieldingEntry class looks like this:
public class ShieldingEntry
{
public double Depth { get; set; }
public bool IsDefault { get; set; }
}
However, when I click the field, it doesn't go into edit mode. I've also tried the DoubleClick, SingleClickAlways, and F2Only modes and they don't work either.
The Checkbox works fine.
************** I have additional information *********************
I've pulled and build the ObjectListView source, so I could step through it.
I put a breakpoint in the OLV StartCellEdit method and it gets called and appears to setup and select the control appropriately. It just never appears...
As I noted in the comments on the answer below, I've got this control on a tabbed dialog, and if I switch to another tab, then back, the control works fine.
What am I missing?
I've used ObjectListView before, and here is what I had to do:
Handle the CellEditStarting event. This event is raised when the cell goes into edit mode. Since OLV doesn't really have built-in editors, you have to make your own. Then handle the CellEditFinishing event to validate the data before putting it back into your model.
So first, handling the CellEditStarting event:
private void objlv_CellEditStarting(object sender, CellEditEventArgs e)
{
//e.Column.AspectName gives the model column name of the editing column
if (e.Column.AspectName == "DoubleValue")
{
NumericUpDown nud = new NumericUpDown();
nud.MinValue = 0.0;
nud.MaxValue = 1000.0;
nud.Value = (double)e.Value;
e.Control = nud;
}
}
This creates your editing control. If you want to make sure the size is right, you can set the size of the control (in this case a NumericUpDown) to the cell bounds using e.CellBounds from the event object.
This will show the editor when you click in the cell. Then you can handle the editor finished event to validate the data:
private void objlv_CellEditFinishing(object sender, CellEditEventArgs e)
{
if (e.Column.AspectName == "DoubleValue")
{
//Here you can verify data, if the data is wrong, call
if ((double)e.NewValue > 10000.0)
e.Cancel = true;
}
}
I don't think handling it is required, but its good practice to validate data from the user.
The editing control in the CellEditStarting event can be any control, even a user defined one. I've used a lot of user defined controls (like textboxes with browse buttons) in the cell editor.
[Edit]
I uploaded an example here dropbox link that seems to work. Might not be in the exact view as needed, but seems to do the job.
For anyone else with this problem. I had it specifically when trying to edit a 'null' value in a decimal? on the OLV on a tab page. Solution for me was to set UseCustomSelectionColors to 'False'. I didn't look elsewhere to see if it was reported as a bug. Seems like a bug.
I wait for an element to appear then I try to populate it with SendKeys. 40% of the time the element isn't populated even though the element is enabled and displayed. I put all kinds of Thread.Sleep with all kinds of values everywhere.
My issue is similar to this one but I'm using the PhantomJS driver instead of the Firefox one. Using the solutions from the link above didn't work, I just got undefined function exceptions.
public static IWebElement FindElement(this IWebDriver driver, By by, int timeoutInSeconds)
{
if (timeoutInSeconds > 0)
{
var wait = new WebDriverWait(driver, TimeSpan.FromSeconds(timeoutInSeconds));
return wait.Until(drv => drv.FindElement(by));
}
return driver.FindElement(by);
}
zipcode = _driver.FindElement(By.Name("iZipCode"), 50);
while(!zipcode.Displayed)
{
System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(3000);
}
zipcode.Click();
zipcode.Clear();
System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(3000);
zipcode.SendKeys(OpenQA.Selenium.Keys.Backspace);
zipcode.SendKeys(text);
The element that I'm trying to populate is a textbox that appears upon a combobox selection. I click element in combobox -> textbox is displayed (it is hidden prior to selection of item in combobox).
Using Enter fixed the issued:
zipcode.SendKeys(text);
zipcode.SendKeys(OpenQA.Selenium.Keys.Enter);
