Automapper configuration falls short on partial class? - c#

I have following AccountDetailRecord class to be mapped to the AccountDetailDto with the following configuration but somehow I am missing something in mapping the partial classes.

what am I missing in configuration?

According to your classes properties, what you need is to reverse the mapping, so AutoMapper will be able to unflatten your AddressTypeId and AddressTypeDescription source properties into an AddressTypeDto object.
As the documentation states:
Unflattening is only configured for ReverseMap. If you want
unflattening, you must configure Entity -> Dto then call ReverseMap to
create an unflattening type map configuration from the Dto -> Entity
So you simply need to swap your mapping declaration to:
cfg.CreateMap<AccountDetailDto.AddressDto, AddressRecord>().ReverseMap();

But since I want to map multiple entities, how do I include the other entity
Your scenario is just another example of flattening a complex object. You have properties in child objects, which you want to bring to the ground level, while still leveraging AutoMapper mapping capabilities. If only you could reuse other maps from app user and opportunity when mapping from assigned opportunity to the DTO... Well, there is a method called IncludeMembers() (see the docs) that exists precisely for such case. It allows you to reuse the configuration in the existing maps for the child types:

Querying Repository with inheritance

I am using code first approach with Entity Framework 6. Three of my model classes implements inheritance and each of these model has collection which also implement inheritance. I am using TPH inheritance strategy. Everything works fine and I can insert/update with no problem at all. However, I get when I try to read data from the repo. The I get is shown below.

Create a base ReviewModel class and have 2 subclass (StoreReview, MenuModel)
or
Use ReviewModel for both StoreModel and MenuModel (how?)

If the ReviewModel properties are the same in both (StoreModel and MenuModel) there is nothing special to do, just use ReviewModel as it is being used in your shown code for both models.
In any case, just add an enum property to ReviewModel to know wether it is a StoreModelReview or a MenuModelReview.

Nested Collection Mapping in Automapper

Am trying to map nested collections using automapper and I have done the basic setup and configuration. When I try to do the map it the nested values are coming as null. I have tried to follow few posts and put together something. I want the list to have a hierarchy instead of flattening. Any help around this would be great.

I think you should have a wrong class hierarchy in DTO classes, as you have
public List<InnerMostEntity> InnerMostList { get; set; }
in public class InnerEntityDTO, you should write it as
public List<InnerMostEntityDTO> InnerMostList { get; set; }

Reusing models in Web Api

I have a c# class as below

and I need another class with following properties

I have repeated properties except that one field (Date_of_Birth) is added in the EditStudent Model.
Is there an option to reuse some of the properties from previous CreateStudent model
I am going to handle these data as Json objects in my front end angularjs based application
You could do this with a null-able property.

This way you only have one Student model that can accommodate both use-cases.
