Your application can't login to the database.
Check if WIN-J9A67LA4GER\shahidostovari_web exists as a login on the database server and if it's password is correct in the connectionstring (if you use one).
Also be careful with posting this kind of information...
It's better to hide the actual user

How to set username and password in connection string for connecting to database?

This is my first asp web site and I published the project for web , but now the page with db connection do not work properly , I am sure about user and password what else should I do ?!!
this is connection string :
<connectionStrings>
<add name="dbnameConnectionString" connectionString="server=.;database=dbname;uid=user;password=pass;Initial Catalog=dbname;Integrated Security=True" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>
</connectionStrings>
and this s a error that i get :

Well the problem is right there in the stack.
Login failed for user 'WIN-J9A67LA4GER\hostusername_web'
You are setting Integrated Security=True and also specifying a username and password. From my understanding Integrated Security=True will use the Windows Credentials that the website is running under. As answered here.
If you want to specify a SQL Login in your connection string then you need to set that to False.
Your connection string specifying Integrated Security=True which means the connection will use the current window credentials.
So if you want to use the username and password provided by you in connection string then set this property to false.
<add name="dbnameConnectionString" connectionString="server=.;database=dbname;uid=user;password=pass;Initial Catalog=dbname;Integrated Security= false" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>

Handling EF SqlException in one place

I am using EF DB first implementation. I have this autogenerated Context class.
public DbSet<Logs> Logs { get; set; }
I am accessing it with my repository all around in my application from about 10-20 places.
_repository.Logs.Where(....).ToList()
Once in a while the DB goes down or does a restart or whatever, but the getting exception.
System.Data.Entity.Core.EntityException: The underlying provider failed on Open. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. So basically the only code where I could catch it is where I call _repository.Logs.Select(..... That means I would have to write the same code to 10-20 places, which I don't like.
What I want to do it the catch the exception in one place or silently catch it, and it will continue with empty List(). Any ways to catch it in one central place?
I ended up making a method IsAlive() inside DbContext, it will check if it gets a connection, if not, it will return empty list.
public bool IsAlive() {
try {
Database.Connection.Open();
return true;
} catch (Exception e) {
return false;
}
}

Bat.Web.Global.Application_Start(Object sender, EventArgs e) in
c:\Users\Bartel\Documents\GitHub\batconnect\Main\batconnect\Bat.Web\Global.asax.cs:15
As you can see in the last line, there is a reference to my local computer:
Bat.Web.Global.Application_Start(Object sender, EventArgs e) in c:\Users\Bartel\Documents\GitHub\batconnect\Main\batconnect\Bat.Web\Global.asax.cs:15
Can anyone tell me, why this is? And how to fix it.
Kind Regards,
Vincent
This information comes from PDB file and there is no need to fix that, unless you do not want to expose this path. In that case you can turn off generation of PDB completely: go to project settings, Build properties, select the Release configuration (I assume you are using that), click Advanced... button and select Debug Info to None.

Can't connect to SQL user?

Guys I am trying to host locally a asp website on my PC. Now the website works perfectly in VS2012's debug mode. Now I have published it and hosted it on IIS server 7.5 (using windows 7 x64), now when I browse localhost, the default login page of my site is shown. When I put login credentials and press login button, I get the following error : (error is generated whether the credentials are correct or not)
Server Error in '/' Application.
Login failed for user 'WORKGROUP\SILICON-PC$'.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request.
Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

This is the connection string, I am using in web config.
<add name="ST" connectionString="Data Source=000.000.0.000,1433;Network Library=DBMSSOCN;Initial Catalog=STDB;User ID=user;Password=pass" />
where Data Source has my PC's IP and SQL credentials are correct, I have checked. Also, I have a desktop application that is using the same credentials and is working perfectly.
I have also selected NetworkService in my application's pool identity from IIS manager.
What could be the problem?
Create login for your machine, and add rights to read/write your database:
-- Create login
USE [master]
GO
CREATE LOGIN [WORKGROUP\SILICON-PC$] FROM WINDOWS
GO
-- Add it as user of YourDatabase, and assign rights to read/write data using roles
USE [YourDatabase]
GO
CREATE USER [silicon-pc] FOR LOGIN [WORKGROUP\SILICON-PC$] WITH DEFAULT_SCHEMA=[dbo]
GO
ALTER ROLE db_datareader ADD MEMBER [silicon-pc]
go
ALTER ROLE db_datawriter ADD MEMBER [silicon-pc]
go‏
Also you can use direct impersonation using login/password combination, another windows account, or certificate-based auth.
