Event not firing in following code:

I am using vs2012 framework 4.5 and windows application. But not able to reach the line in open and messages events. Not ure what mistake I am making, can anybody please advise?

First, you should setup events and after that call connect method, because it works synchronously.

How do I add the TcpClient parameter to the DataReceived event handler SimpleTCP?

I am confused how to add parameters to the DataReceived SimpleTCP event handler.

I assume you use the SimpleTCP Library by BrandonPotter.
Please add information about used 3rd party libraries in your Question, as it makes it a lot easier for others to help.
The Message object passed in the DataReceived and DelimiterDataReceived event contains a property TcpClient that is the information you need. Therefore you need no additional parameter.
I think you would better use DelimiterDataReceived, therefore your code would look like this:

c# webclient not timing out

Im trying to download files using extended WebClient with set timeout and I have a problem with the timeout (or what I think should cause timeout).
When I start the download with WebClient and receive some data, then disconnect wifi - my program hangs on the download without throwing any exception. How can I fix this?
EDIT: It actually throws exception but way later than it should (5 minutes vs 1 second which i set) - that is what Im trying to fix.
If you find anything else wrong with my code, please let me know too. Thank you for help

Capturing serial welcome message when connecting in c#

I am trying to write a program that communicates with a controller. The controller is supposed to send a "welcome" message when a connection is successfully established and, in fact, it does when I connect using a communications software. However, using the .NET code below, I never see the welcome message. Beyond that, it works. How can I capture this message. It seems to be sent the moment the connection is established.
Again, I am able to communicate fine with the controller after connection but I simply cannot seem to get the welcome message that is sent a the moment the connection is opened.

I worked it out. Required a slight delay between connection and trying to pull data from the port.

how to call received data in Serial Port C#

i'm newbie in C# serial port...

The above code opens both serial ports, sets up the data received events, and sends data through it. If you run that code you should see "COM2 Received: Hello, COM2!" output.

MSNP-Sharp Example fails to login, gives SocketException

I've just downloaded the MSNP-Sharp library with the aim of creating my own messaging client, however I am struggling to get the example to sign in. The code all compiles and runs, but when I provide my login details and select "Login" I almost immediately get the following SocketException:
"No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 64.4.9.254:1863"
I've stepped through the code and it's the messenger.Connect() function that is causing this, somewhat obviously. When I run the example I only change the login and password details. I am running Windows 7 x86 with the latest version of Windows Live Messenger.
I have tried disabling my antivirus, even going as far as to temporarily uninstall it in case that was the error.
I have also tried disabling Windows Firewall, with no luck.
Firstly, use the stable version of MSNPSharp (that is, 3.0). Since it is a SocketException, this may relate to a problem within the internet protocol (a firewall for instance). Try to ensure that nothing is blocking the program from accessing to the MSN protocol. Since you have said you have disabled your Windows Firewall, could there be anything else that could be blocking it?
Secondly, have you tried using MSN Messenger Live for a test. If that works, MSNPSharp client should probably work too. Ensure you have .NET Framework 2.0 or within their version of the .NET Framework. If it constantly appears to be a problem, I don't believe this is a problem from the MSNPSharp client (I'm not sure however).
