I'm trying and setting up an Azure App Service database (easy table) integration on my Xamarin Forms App, following the instructions I found on these two posts: this one, by James Montemagno, and the one I found on a Xamarin Developer Guide.
Now, everything works fine on the Android App but I've got an issue on Windows Phone 8.1: I can build my app, but it crashes when executing the var something = new MobileServiceSQLiteStore(path); instruction ({"Unable to load DLL 'e_sqlite3': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)"}).
Here's my SQLite & Azure-related reference:
.
Any idea on why this issue is happening?
Thanks!
Jacopo
UPDATE - 25/11/2016
I tried building the same project with the same libraries in Windows UWP, and it works.
Is there a WP 8.1 non-compability with the Microsoft.Azure.Mobile.Client.SQLiteStore I couldn't find any reference about, maybe?
Could this issue be related to the Visual C++ 2015 Runtime Package (UWP) vs the Visual C++ 2013 Runtime Package one (WP8.1)?

I am creating a Xamarin project, and I made it working with Android and iOS, but I can't figure out how to start the Windows Phone 8.1 emulator.
Windows Phone 8.1 is created as a project just like the other platforms.
I am running Visual Studio 2015 Community and Xamarin Business.
EDIT
I made it running by setting it as startup project, but are there others way by e.g. changing the project (where you choose if it is debug or release)?
I also want to know, how I can create the application to Windows store
To create app package go to
Project->Store->Create App Package - It will open wizard for creating app package that You are able to send to store (reference: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh975357.aspx)
As for the other ways:
In Visual Studio 2015 You can choose in taskbar: debug/release, CPU architecture, startup project and where to deploy an app - eg. emulator or device
I'm retrieving the following message when I use classes from a C++ subproject on a Windows Phone 8.1 app (winrt, no silverlight):
(System.IO.FileNotFoundException) "The specified module could not be
found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)"
I had this error before, when I was developing the same app for W8.1 (Desktop, x86 and ARM). I solved that issue with the procmon.exe (Process Monitor) which logs any searched library and its result (found / not found).
With procmon.exe tool I found the libraries which aren't found (curl, websockets, ogg, sqlite3), and I added to the main project root. That solved the Desktop Issue.
Now I'm porting that developed app (Windows 8.1 desktop) to WindowsPhone 8.1 winrt (no silverlight).
I'm getting the same problem, and I added the same libraries than the Desktop project (curl, websockets, ogg, sqlite3), but It sill throwing the same exception (that libraries are loaded, because if I add the x86 version, on a ARM build, then, throws "BadImageException" instead).
EDIT 1:
Let me give you a breakdown of the project structure:
- AppCS: C# startup project. Targets Windows Phone 8.1 (winrt, no silverlight).
References AppCS & has the following dlls as content:
ogg:
libogg.dll
libvorbis.dll
libvorbisfile.dll
websockets:
libwebsockets.dll
curl:
libcurl.dll
libeay32.dll
ssleay32.dll
sqlite3:
sqlite3.dll
AppCPP: C++ dll library. Targets Windows Phone 8.1 (v120_wp81 toolset).
This is the game core. References libcocos
libcocos: dll library; shared project between Windows Phone 8.1 (v120_wp81) & Windows 8.1.
This is the game engine, where I'm assuming the dlls (from AppCS) are being used.
Any suggested solution/tool for solve it?
Finally I could fix the issue. As expected I wasn't attached the properly dll.
It seems there isn't a cool/easy way to detect it, so, you should identify it on a mostly empty test project:

We are evaluating Xamarin Forms for our next project to develop the same application for the three major platforms: Android, iOS and Windows Phone.
As we mostly work with WP and Windows apps within the company, we have a well working base setup for work environment. It consists of a Windows 8.1 Pro/Enterprise install, Visual Studio 2013 Update 4 with both WP 8.0 and 8.1 emulators and targets, and all the rest of the packages (e.g. Office Development packages, etc.).
So I grabbed such a laptop, and installed Xamarin on it, using the official download URL on their site. It installed fine, but when I tried to create a new Forms project, it only created the Android part of it, no WP or iOS projects were created.
After checking the settings and all, it turns out that Xamarin Studio won't load the iOS and WP parts which would make it possible to create the projects.
How could I make it see those extensions?
You will need to download the Windows phone SDK update and that will create Windows phone project for you
I've been having this problem for a few days, and can't find any solution.
I made my app with Xamarin Studio. I am trying to upload an update for my it to iTunes Connect through Xcode. But when trying to validate the app I get the following error: "This bundle is invalid. New apps and app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with public." Dissecting this error it makes it sound like it thinks I'm using a beta SDK, which I'm not (full system specs below). Even weirder is that if I go through Xamarin Studio's Archive validation it tells me everything is fine. But when I go through Application Loader it tells me the following:
"ERROR ITMS-9000: This bundle is invalid. New apps and app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with public (GM) versions of Xcode 5.1.1 or higher and iOS 7 SDK. Do not submit apps built with beta software." Obviously this is the same error as before, just a little more detailed. But the system specs it outlines, are exactly the same as I am using.
Hopefully someone out there can lend me a hand! :D
System Specs:
Mac OSX 10.9.3
Xcode 5.1.1 (Downloaded from the Mac App Store)
iOS 7 SDK, building for iOS 7.1
Xamarin Studio 5.0
Application Loader 2.9.1
Thanks in advance!
Open your project in Xamarin Studio, then double click on Info.plist. Click on Use Asset Catalogs for both sections: Universal Icons & Universal Launch Images. It should create two new folders:
Resources/Images.xassets/AppIcons.appiconset
Resources/Images.xassets/LanuchImage.lanuchimage
Go to AppIcons.appiconset folder and make sure that you have the following file names:
AppIcon57x57.png
AppIcon57x57#2x.png
AppIcon72x72#2x~.png
AppIcon72x72~ipad.png
Rename your icons if you don't have them and double click on Content.json to assign them.
I have created a Metro application, but I did not yet send it to Windows Store as it's still in beta. One of my friends was interested in testing my application. To install my application on hes computer I used sideloading, following the steps in this article : http://blogs.msdn.com/b/patricka/archive/2012/11/05/how-do-i-deploy-a-windows-8-app-to-another-device-for-testing.aspx . The problem is that, when a press "Y" (yes) and PowerShell should install my app, it gives an error "The package or bundle is not signed or it's digital signature is corrupted. ". What should I do ? I sent him all the files that were generated by the Visual Studio.
I have to mention that :
I'm using Windows 8.1
I've developed the app in Visual Studio 2013 Professional
The target platform of my app is Windows 8.1 (and I have no idea how to change this)
My friend does not have Visual Studio installed
My friend uses Windows Server 2012 Datacenter (Could
this be the problem ? What should I do in this case ? I'm very
interested that my app to work also on Windows 8, Windows Server 2012
because this are the OS-es that are used at my office and by a
majority of the people with whom I work and that could test my app
before releasing it to the market. )
EDIT : I tried to follow the steps in this article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/jj835836(v=vs.85).aspx , but my error does not appear to be listed there.
In AppxPackagingOM > Microsoft-Windows-AppxPackaging/Operational I have the next error:
error 0xC00CE014: App manifest validation error:
The app manifest must be valid as per schema: Line 27, Column 8, Reason: Element
'{http://schemas.microsoft.com/appx/2013/manifest}VisualElements' is unexpected according
to content model of parent element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/appx/2010/manifest}Application'.
Expecting: {http://schemas.microsoft.com/appx/2010/manifest}VisualElements.
Also in AppXDeployment-Server > Microsoft-Windows-AppXDeploymentServer/Operational I have no errors.
After reading your question again, I see the obvious solution.
The target platform of my app is Windows 8.1 (and I have no idea how
to change this)
...
My friend uses Windows Server 2012 Datacenter
You need to target Windows 8 to make it run on 8/2012. And if you check out MSDN, you'll see:
If you want to create a Windows 8 version of your app, you must use
Microsoft Visual Studio 2012.
Please make sure you have created beta app package in release mode not in debug mode. This is wrong from here.
