Sitefinity 7.0 500 Error - System.Web.HttpCompileException - c#

I have a Sitefinity 7.0 project I am developing that has been working fine until just this week. Now I get a 500 error everytime I try to access the Dashboard or any other backend page. The login works, but the desired page always fails, whether running in VS2013 or published and run from IIS 7
I have rolled back all code and data changes to well before when the site was trouble free. I'm really desperate to find the cause of the issue. The production site hosted on WS2008R2 is still trouble free, but I need to continue development on my Windows 8.1 box.

The resolution was uninstalling Microsoft updates until the problem disappeared. The issue would appear associated with Security Update for Microsoft Windows KB3098779
Remove this and the site reverts back to normal functionality. The explanation of the update from Microsoft is:
This update resolves vulnerabilities in the Microsoft .NET Framework. The most severe of these vulnerabilities could allow elevation of privilege if an attacker injects a client-side script into a user’s browser.

Website not loading after publish

I have a site that I have been using without any issues for quite a while now. I've made some changes to improve performance, including storing data in the cache and altering how the site interacts with the database. However since publishing the site to it's location it is now just returning a blank page whenever I try to load it.
I am getting error emails from the site whenever I try to load it, showing an exception message of "External component has thrown an exception". I have a couple places that can send out an error email and both of them are triggering, each with a slightly different stack trace provided, which are below.

Can anyone give me any ideas why this might have suddenly started failing? It works fine when I load it locally via Visual Studio, and is only encountering issues when loading from the remote server.
EDIT
I've since tried to redeploy the site and it is now loading something, but i'm getting a server error instead:
Compilation Error
Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.
Compiler Error Message: The compiler failed with error code 255.
I'm also getting a different stack trace now too:

So it turns out that the problem was the Roslyn package that was included in the solution. Deleting the folder from the bin folder, removing the package from the solution, and redeploying fixed the issue.

Unable to validate data error with machine key set to SHA1

I have a simple .net application using the .NET 2.0 runtime in IIS 7.5 where I've changed the machine key in the web.config to use the following:
<machineKey validationKey="AutoGenerate,IsolateApps" decryptionKey="AutoGenerate,IsolateApps" validation="SHA1"/>
This works fine locally, but when I publish to the server I get an "HttpException (0x80004005): Unable to validate data" whenever browsing the site. I've made sure to set compilation debug="false". Setting the validation method to 3DES eliminates this issue, but we have a requirement to work with SHA1. Is there some configuration option I'm missing here? see the stack trace below.

Are you running the application in an truly .NET 2.0 app-pool? (I am asking because you are using IIS 7.5).
If not, bear in mind that there has been a change in the encryption algorithms in the .NET 4.5 framework.
If you need to be compatible with the < .NET 4.5 Framework you will need a compatibility tag:
<machineKey compatibilityMode="Framework20SP1" />
See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.configuration.machinekeysection.compatibilitymode.aspx or http://blogs.msdn.com/b/webdev/archive/2012/10/23/cryptographic-improvements-in-asp-net-4-5-pt-2.aspx for details.
I found that when the local security policy for "System crytography:use fips compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing"(Security Settings >> local policies >> securityOptions) is set to true, Sha1 will not function, which is the reason why I'm getting the error in this case.

So I get this exception from Telerik's RadGrid when using a custom DataSource but I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Any clues?

This error is happening due to some kind of (probably accidental) recursion. I'd suggest the following:
Look for something that triggers a redraw in your redraw code.
Look at your call stack when it fails and see where it is entering this endless recursion.

String was not recognized as a valid DateTime, asp.net

,Hi,
I have a asp.net and c# website.
In the asp code I use
<asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server" EnablePageMethods="true"></asp:ScriptManager>
when I run my project I get this error:
String was not recognized as a valid DateTime.
I am not using any dataTime things, on my site.
Then when I do refresh to the page the error disappears.
Stack Trace:

What can be the issue?
You're referencing a library with a [TypeLibraryTimeStampAttribute] that has an invalid date passed to it.
Find that library and fix or remove it.
In general, it is a bad idea to use WinForms libraries in ASP.Net.
remove all AxInterop.*.dll files from bin folder of web application
