I am working on project wherein there are 8 to 10 different types of project in a solution.
On sharepoint site there is one link say "open dashboard" ,when this link is clicked it navigates to the project I am working on.
Now the problem is when user click this link and a login page which is common for all the 8 to 10 project appears and depending upon selection from drop-down it navigates to that particular dashboard.
Error occurs if user does the following steps :
open two tabs in IE. Navigate using sharepoint site and select the open dashboard and login to Project1. if user repeat the same steps in the second tab, the error occurs(object reference not found).
I have created logs for this however I am not able to dig where the problem as it routes Project2(as an example) which is set default in route table but user has login to Project1 in tab1
what I want to achieve is that user should see same content in second tab as in first tab.
I have done tried so many things but they all are failing..Please correct me where I am going wrong?

I am trying to create a chatbot which is having multiple waterfall dialog classes using C# and BOT SDK V4. I have created a HTML page and placed the DirectLine channel Secret Key Iframe data into it and published it to Azure successfully and opened it in the browser. The browser opens with a in-built welcome message something like: Hi bot name type Hi to continue.
If i have Choice options done through prompt options to be displayed as buttons but these are not displayed through direct line channel but works very good in Web Chat Channel?
Attached image shows the issue:
a "WebChatbotHtml_optionbtndisplayed.jpg"
b. "DirectLinechannelHtml_optionbtnnotdisplayed.jpg"
Now, in the main dialog class i have implemented the Login mechanism using the Oauth Prompt in th html page that was created above i see the login link getting displayed using which i have successfully logged in this will navigate to another waterfall dialog having prompt options with some custom choice buttons, whee if i click on a choice button the next step will be executed and respective action will be triggered.
The issue i have is normally the options are displayed for me to access but in the html that i created the all other things like login link and navigation is happening but the choice buttons are not displayed its like they are getting hidden.
or Sometimes the Choice Option buttons are not displayed at all in the Direct Channel Web chat bot
The query is how to fix the issue?
To make my query to be understood in a better way please find below set of things:
1. WaterfalldiaglogClass1:
STEP 1: Has login option/link displayed through Oauth Prompt.
STEP 2: Gets token validates it and displays login successful message and then navigates to second waterfalldialogClass
2. WaterFallddialogClass2:
STEP 1: Custom choices are displayed through Prompt options lets say 1,2,3,4
STEP 2: Capture the choice getting clicked and perform respective action
I created a HTML page where the I frame code i copied with secret code of Direct Line Channel
Published it to azure successfully with no errors or warnings
Opened the html page in a browser the chat bot opens successfully with a welcome default message like: HI i am bot, enter Hi to continue
User sends hi and logins using the login link available displayed in dialog class 1 and login successful message is displayed
Navigated successfully to second dialog successfully as i can see the prompt message given as part of prompt option and custom choices in the code
Current Issue: The option buttons 1,2,3,4 are not getting displayed it is getting hidden somehow
Need help in resolving the issue Please provide detailed step by step guide in resolving it as i am new to BOT and coding .
language: C#
Bot Framework: V4
I have tried increasing height width and other % values in the HTML page and republished it but not successful. The same thing works in web chat channel i.e. if i keep secret code inside the HTML page of webchat channel without any issues.
Issue Image attached for reference.
Expected Result: Data or choices should be shown as it is working in Webchat channel
Actual Result: Not working the choice options are not visible to choose
There are two versions of Embedded Web Chat at the moment: Gemini and Scorpio. Embedded Web Chat is currently in the process of slowly transitioning all clients from Scorpio to Gemini. It appears your embedded Web Chat is still using Scorpio which unfortunately does not support the OAuth prompt. In the near future, you will be able to manually request your client to be switched to Gemini.
In the meantime, you can add either add Web Chat v4 to your site using a CDN or wait for your client to be migrated to Gemini.
For more details regarding Embedded Web Chat, take a look at the documentation.
Hope this is somewhat helpful.
I'm new in Xamarin Forms (and in Prism as well) I'm trying to create my first xamarin forms application and need a login flow.
I tried to check if user logged in application.OnInitialized method (and show Login or Main page depending on the result). But the problem is that if i show Login page and then after login i show Main page, then user is able to navigate to login page using hardware buttons..
Then i tried to check this in OnNavigationTo in Main page, but it's not working also. I checked this in PRE version and stable version and had different errors. In one of them the navigation just didn't work, in other - i got an error, that main page couldn't be created.
Then i tried to inject navigation service into MainPage (not a view model), but i found out that navigation service couldn't be injected there.
Then i decided to send a message from view after base.OnAppearing and subscribe to that message in view model and do navigation to login if needed as a callback. But there's one very strange problem. If i'm using ToolBarItems on a MainPage, then on windows phone it's disappearing after navigation back from login page (but suddenly, login page on windows phone HAS that toolbar items), Looks like OnAppearing method on windows phone fires before toolbar items are loaded. In any case, it's not a solution.
Then i decided to add a blank page and send a message after base.onAppearing into a view model and inside that view model i do redirect to Login or main page. So, it works with one small "BUT". If i press hardware back button on login page or main page i don't close application as i navigate to blank page which redirects me to login or main page.
Is there a proper way to implement login flow using prism? i really like it as it's very powerful framework..
Thanks in advance!
Keep in mind that OnNavigatedTo only works when using the latest preview version, and calling NavigationService.Navigate. There are a couple of approaches to take here. First you can navigate to MainPage, then check in the OnNavigatedTo. If not logged in, navigate to the LoginPage. You could also just check on App startup. When you show the LoginPage, you can use an absolute URI to replace the entire navigation stack. Essentially what this does is set MainPage = new MainPage().
I'm working on an ASP project, and probably will be for a very long time. Which is fine with me because I've fallen in love with MVC, it completely eliminates -most- things I hate about web dev. That said, I has a problem..
So, I right clicked a new index and set it as the start page and now it sends me to..
http://localhost:9240/Views/Home/Index.cshtml
But the URL that works is http://localhost:9240/Home/Index
So when I start the project it 404's
In mvc you don't set startup page. To set a default page you can follow below steps.
Right click on your project and go to properties and select start url and write your page url.
Hope it works
You should not set the start-page on your view file, MVC is not like web-forms as you start the project it will go to http://localhost:9240/Home/Index by default if you do want to change that you either have to modify your Action Index to redirect to the action you want in controller or change the default routes.
Aside from the default route, if you always want to launch from a specific page when debugging, you can set the "Start Action" of your web app by right clicking on the project, go to Properties -> Web -> Start Action, check the "Specific Page" radio button, and input the URL you wish to land on.
This can be helpful if you're working on a particular feature in a large web application, and you want to save yourself a few clicks every time you go to debug.
MSDN for reference : Change the Start Action for Application Debugging
We have an application that runs as service on windows. The service periodically checks for active Internet Explorer instances using SHDocVw.ShellWindows(). With this, we are able to capture the URL in each of the IE instances.
My Question:
Is it possible to find out how the webpage in each of these IE instances were launched. For example -
Did user type in url in IE to load the webpage?
Did the user select the link from another IE tab to launch ?
Did the user launch IE instance from another desktop application like outlook etc
Thank you.
The closest thing I could find to your specific requirement was this also check out the part 2 of the same blog where some edge cases have been discussed.
The part 1 of the blog talks about a registry key named TypedURLs (path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs) which can be found in the registry editor, the rules of updation of this key are like this:
If a link is copied and pasted from a web page to the URL address bar and the user hits enter, this will also populate the key, as this is akin to physically typing in the entire address. If an invalid address of a webpage or resource that cannot be located is entered, the key will not be populated until either the connection or the request is completed (whether it succeeded or failed). If IE’s Stop function is selected before the connection is finished or the resource is located, the key will not be populated.
It is important to note that websites visited with the browser via hyperlinks, redirects, the IE Favorites menu or the user’s home page will not populate this key. Also, when a user selects to delete their browsing history using IE’s built-in function, this key is cleared.
Hope it helps!
I have a site with few asp:CheckBoxList and asp:DropDownList controls. Checking few options or selecting few items in the dropdowns makes the back button browse to same page just with previous selections. I would like the back button on the browser take the user to the previous website visited. As example: if the last visited site was: default.aspx, then the back button from my current site should go back to default.aspx.
Adding few header options regarding caching only broke the back button to: Page Not Found message.
How can the user browse back to the default.aspx by the first back button clicked on the browser?
Just need to confirm, are u using IE 10 to run the web system?
I had encounter asp control component not working properly when i was using IE 10.
Maybe consider using other browser type like firefox and safari to see if it can work properly
