I have some problem with Visual studio Nuget.
I want to use Pechkin in my web project , but I cant find this package in Visual Studio Nuget Maneger.
I thought this have been remove , but it can be find on Nuget web.NuGet - Pechkin
Is my Visual Studio NuGet have some problem ? or I got some wrong step on this ?
How can I find Pechkin in my Nuget ?
(Can't found Pechkin 0.5.8.1 , Pechkin.Synchronized in NuGet , Just TuesPechkin and some else)
I have no problems with my Visual Studio do add this package. Check out the image:
I've found the package for a Windows Forms application. What type of application you are using? Maybe this package is not available to the type of application you want. There are packages that are available to a Windows Forms application, but not for a Mobile application, for example.
EDIT:
As this library is designed to work with .NET 4.0, you must ensure that your application targets the 4.0 .NET framework.
To check this, right-click on your project and go to Properties. You will see the Target Framework option. Set it to the .NET 4.0 option or above and test again to see if the package appears in NuGET.

I am writing a crossplatform (iOS and android) Xamarin app and I need a sql connection to my database. I found out that I need System.Data.SqlClient to achieve this. But when I try to add System.Data.SqlClient to my core project I get:
Could not install package 'System.Data.SqlClient 4.4.0'. You are trying to install this package into a project that targets '.NETPortable,Version=v4.5,Profile=Profile259', but the package does not contain any assembly references or content files that are compatible with that framework. For more information, contact the package author.
I get that apparently this .NETPortable version is compatible, but what is the solution to this? There must be a way to access a SQL database. Also I found that other posts asked to add System.Data first, but this package doesn't even show up in nuget.
In case that you change your pcl project into .NET Standard you should be able to install this nuget package.
Follow this awesome snack pack!
In Visual Studio Preview there is template to create xamarin project using .netstandard. I can confirm that it works.
I'm trying to use the Math.net extension for Visual Studio 2015 with C#.
Unfortunately, after installing the package with
PM> Install-Package MathNet.Numerics -Version 3.20.0
I cannot find it anywhere in the Add References menu. I searched Assemblies->Framework and Assemblies->Extensions and COM, but it's not there
I wouldn't mind the just adding the DLL to my project, but I cannot find the DLL anywhere on https://numerics.mathdotnet.com , all the links take me to the NuGet package manager.
Also, do I need to distribute the MathNet dll with my application if I add it through the package manager, or does it build internally with the application?
Sorry, new to .net library management
I see that when I ran the command line, it added a packages folder to my project folder. Which has a few different versions of the library per .net version. Which I could browse to with Add Reference->Browse->Browse
Is this the correct way about adding a third party library?
I am writing xamarin app which will work on windows and OS X (using profile 7)
I am trying to add the nuget system.xml.xpath
However, it gives me the below error-
Adding System.Xml.XPath...
The 'System.Xml.XPath 4.0.0' package requires NuGet client version '3.0' or above, but the current NuGet version is '2.8.7.0'.
I have two question-
1.
how soon will xamarin start supporting nugget client 3.0 or above?
2.
how can i resolve my specific problem?
On OS-X you can:
sudo nuget update -self
Note: sudo is required as this will update the nuget.exe within the Mono Framework
>nuget
NuGet Version: 3.4.4.1321
There is a nuget3 branch of Xamarin Studio 6.1 but I have not seen when that will go into an public alpha release...
You do not say what development environment you are using. The error message suggest you are using Xamarin Studio, since Visual Studio already supports NuGet 3.
There is a preview branch of Xamarin Studio 6.1 which does support NuGet 3, this is currently available on the alpha channel in Xamarin Studio.
However whilst using Xamarin Studio 6.1 will allow you to do is add the System.Xml.XPath NuGet package to your project you will still not be able to use anything from that NuGet package currently since there are no assemblies in it for the Xamarin frameworks and currently the Xamarin build tools will not add the correct assembly references for you at compile time.
When creating a new solution within Xamarian studio I get this error
Could not install package 'Xamarin.Forms 1.0.6186'. You are trying to install this package into a project that targets '.NETFramework,Version=v4.5,Profile=Profile78', but the package does not contain any assembly references or content files that are compatible with that framework. For more information, contact the package author.
Is there a certain version of .Net that Xamarian Forms requires for it to be included in the solution? I've tried searching in their documentation but I'm only seeing marketing and not real in depth documentation.
I had a similar issue using Visual Studio and I've found that the following combination in the PCL works:
.NET Framework 4.5
Windows Phone Silverlight 8
Xamarin.Android
Xamarin.iOS
You have created the wrong project type, you created a normal Windows app, and I assume you are targeting iOS/Android or Mac.
Create the project with the correct type and it should work correctly.
If you are using Xamarin Studio for Windows (without also having Visual Studio installed) you need to download the Portable Library Tools. See the Xamarin doc Introduction to Portable Class Libraries.
I had the same problem with my Xamarin project. The problem was, that in the portable Xamarin project Windows Phone Silverlight was set as target. The PCL project from which I created the nuget, didn't reference Silverlight as target. I don't need Silverlight, so uninstalling all nuget packages from my portable Xamarin project, removing silverlight as target and reinstalling the NuGet packages solved it.
I had similar issue using VS and I found solution here - http://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/29674/xamarin-forms-dll-cannot-be-installed
"It looks like your NuGet Package Manager needs to be upgraded. The Xamarin PCL Profiles are installed but NuGet is not recognising Xamarin.iOS as a target framework. You can update NuGet by selecting Tools - Extensions and Updates, then select the Updates tab, then select Visual Studio Gallery. Then update NuGet from there."
I have invested a lot of time trying all the solutions posted here, but none of them helped me... Here is the solution that worked for me (on Windows 10):
1.) Open your .csproj file
2.) Find the TargetFrameworkProfile entry
3.) This entry contains Profile78 for me, therefore I open the folder below
c:/Program Files (x86)/Reference Assemblies/Microsoft/Framework/.NETPortable/v4.5/Profile/Profile78/SupportedFrameworks
4.a) If the folder does not exist, then use one of the solutions posted here to install the PLC right on your PC
4.b) Unfortunately, ASP.NET and Xamarin don't like each other, therefore delete all ASP profiles from this folder. For me it was ASP.NET Core 5.0.xml. Obviously this will break your ASP.NET support in VS
5.) Restart Xamarin and have fun!

I am following this article on RazorGenerator and it say's that I must add references to:
System.Web.Helpers.dll
System.Web.WebPages.dll
System.Web.Razor.dll
The only one I can see when I do Add Reference is System.Web.Razor, but I don't know where the other ones are.
You will find these assemblies in the Extensions group under Assemblies in Visual Studio 2010, 2012 & 2013 (Reference Manager)
To sum up all of the options for VS 2017, WebHelpers was installed by installing MVC in previous versions of Visual Studio. If you're getting this error, you probably don't have the older versions of VS installed anymore.
So, installing the Microsoft.AspNet.MVC NuGet package will require Microsoft.AspNet.WebPages and Microsoft.AspNet.Razor, and the Microsoft.AspNet.WebPages includes System.Web.Helpers.dll.
If you've got direct references to System.Web.Mvc.dll and you don't want to use NuGet for MVC, you can get the Microsoft.AspNet.WebPages NuGet, or there are some other NuGet packages that only contain System.Web.Helpers.dll, like the microsoft-web-helpers or System-Web-Helpers.dllpackages.
There appear to be 2 versions of System.Web.Helpers.dll, one for .Net 4.0 and one for 4.5. Choosing the correct version of MVC or AspNet.WebPages will ensure you get the right one.
As for VS2017 I didn't find it in "extensions", there's a Nuget package called "microsoft-web-helpers" that seems to be equivalent to System.Web.Helpers.
I had the same problem , first I couldn't find those dlls in the list of .NET components . but later I figured it out that the solution is :
1- first I changed target framework from .NET framework 4 client profile to .NET framework 4.
2- then scroll down the list of .NET components , pass first list of system.web... , scroll down , and find the second list of system.web... at the bottom , they're there .
I hope this could help others
In VS 2010 just right click on project or on reference and click add reference.
On the popup window Select Assemblies - > Extensions -> System.Web.Helpers
Installing ASP.NET MVC3 from here should help.
On VS2017 I installed the NuGet package: Microsoft.AspNet.WebPages
That did the trick.
This particular NuGet package has a habit of losing its references in one of our projects. From time to time I will need to run the following command in the Package Manager Console to restore the references and everything is OK again
Update-Package Microsoft.AspNet.Webpages -reinstall
I had to install RazorGenerator.Templating to get it all to work. From the NuGet console, type:
Install-Package RazorGenerator.Templating
They should be under C:\Program Files\Microsoft ASP.Net (or C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft ASP.Net if you're on a 64-bit OS) in a subfolder for MVC3 or WebPages.
The issue is a missing or outdated version of MVC. I was running VS 2015Preview and could resolve the issue by installing the latest version of MVC via NuGet.
Just in case anyone is still coming across this one.
When you install this nuget package Microsoft.AspNet.WebPages they can be find in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\Shared\Packages\Microsoft.AspNet.WebPages.x.x.x\lib\net45
