I'm looking to disable incremental build in visual studio on a project I have. It is a WPF C# project. I would like the incremental build turned off so that the binaries will work with Mono.
I looked everywhere and for hours. All the answers are for c++ which has linker in the project properties section.
For my wpf project, there is no such settings. I know I'm missing it somewhere and stackoverflow has the answer. Thanks.

I'm currently building an application in WPF and wanted to get the same look and feel as Visual Studio 2019. I did some reading up on it and found that Visual Studio 2019 was actually, itself, written in WPF. That meant they had to have some XAML files to style the UI. So, I dug through the managed libraries hoping to find some XAML files but couldn't find any :/. I also searched for any themes or recreations of Visual Studio in WPF but couldn't find anything other than old, outdated ones with limited controls. I'm asking all this because I know it's possible to get what I want to achieve as dnSpy has Visual Studio 2019's theme. I'm not sure how they did it, whether they decompiled it or not, but I'd be very grateful if someone could help me out. Thanks! :).

I have a problem with creating, building and deploying (still on Android) Xamarin/Xamarin.Forms projects on Visual Studio Community 2015
Version v14.0.25431.01 Update 3, Xamarin v4.2.0.680.
I can't build sample opened projects like MvvmCross or XAML examples. What I've done:
Clean and Rebuild
Update Xamarin extension
Update Nuget packages with removing dependenties
Close and reopen VS
Tools -> Clear MEF Component cache

The most common:
IDE0006 Error encountered while loading the project. Some project features, such as full solution analysis for the failed project and projects that depend on it, have been disabled.
Who know how to solve it?
P.S: Solved by reinstalling Xamarin extension, Android SDK (NDK, emulators, etc.)
I had a host of problems with Xamarin under VS2015, e.g. locked files, compiler could not find files etc.. They all disappeared when I transferred my solution from a network drive to a local drive.
I've a windows application project developed in c# and VS2010 environment. Now I need to prepare a setup for it. I've prepared it via creating "setup project" within VS2010 and it works fine.
The problem is, when I wanted to migrate my project to VS2012, I noticed that Microsoft is no longer supporting "setup projects" inside VS2012 anymore. InstallShield technology seems to appear.
My question is, has anyone tried to use an existing setup project which is created by VS2010 in VS2012? Does it work? Any problems? Is that still supported for VS2012?
By the way, I researched in web and found out that WiX is another solution for preperation on setups. Does anyone use that? Can I integrate my VS2010 .SLN file into ViX? Will that work when I migrate my project to VS2012? If so, how?
My project will be commercial so that any another well 3rd party solutions are fine by me.
I think you should migrate to WiX, as it is available both for Visual Studio 2010 and the later versions of Visual Studio. It also creates MSI installers and is much more customizable than the setups created by the Visual Studio 2010 template.
Actually it is the other way: You don't integrate a solution with WiX, but a WiX installation project will be just like any other project in your solution. Pretty much the same a with the Visual Studio setup project type.
I have a solution with .NET projects and a setup project(Visual Studio Installer 2010). My previous version of the same project was 1.7.9 and the new version is 1.8.4. I also create a shortcut on the desktop to one application in my MSI. I changed all the versions in the assemblyinfo.cs and also changed the product version in the Setup Project, the product code got changed automatically and the upgrade code is the same. The problem I'm facing is that the Targetdir is updated with 1.8.4 files. But on the desktop I see 2 shortcuts (1.7.9 & 1.8.4) and in control panel I see two versions of the same application. I have set the RemovePreviousVersion flag to true and also set the DetectNewerVersion to true. Can someone please help me out with this? After changing the assemblyinfo file why isn't it upgrading properly?
Visual Studio Setup Projects are a deprecated feature that hasn't seen any love since before Visual Studio 2008 was released. I understand it's a feature that ships with Visual Studio all the way up to 2010, but it's probably a much better idea to switch to another product, such as WiX (free and open source), NullSoft Installer a 3rd party commercial solution.
From what I gather, you did the correct things building your installer and setting up the configuration. You might want to check that the previous installer really has the same GUID you're expecting it to have.
Don't know if this is related to the fact that I'm using Visual Studio 2010 Express, but when trying the first step in the link below I can't find the template Visual C++. I tried to download Visual C++ 2010 Express but still no luck.
Does anyone have a work around for this?

EDIT:
I have now tried to create this DLL in Visual C++ 2010 Express instead. When following the guide from the link above I get stuck when I should add resource to the project (Step 2 under 'Create the Language-Neutral Resource Strings for Your Application'). The menu item is greyed out/disabled.
You will need the C++ edition of VS Express to create this Win32 Resource DLL. I assume that that is possible.
And then add the Project (might work) or the resulting file (should work) to your Phone project.
as far as I know you cannot create or build a native C/C++ project in Visual Studio Express. As I understand it, the Visual Studio Express is similar to a demo version that only allows you to create projects that use the .NET framework.
To create and build native C/C++ projects you need the retail Visual Studio Professional.
