I am trying to send email from my WP8 App using EmailComposeTask. But it is not sending the mail. Please correct the code if i am missing some statements.
My code is:
private void Button_Click_1(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
EmailComposeTask email = new EmailComposeTask();
email.Body = "Test email from an app on click";
email.Subject = "Testing";
email.To = "amittal776#gmail.com";
email.Show();
}
On clicking Button , i want this mail to be send to amittal776#gmail.com. When i m running this app it asks for select an account from it will send mail after choosing it send the mail but reciever is not recieving the mail.
There is no error in the code. EmailComposeTask is working as it should. It will always ask you to choose email account.
See this link:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsphone/develop/hh394003%28v=vs.105%29.aspx
Same happens when you use a MediaShareTask, it will ask if you want to share on facebook/twitter/email etc etc.
This is how they are programmed in Windows phone.

I tried sending mails with the help of send grid mail service using .Net core.
var client = new SendGridClient(xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx);
var from = new EmailAddress("test#abc.com", "Not User");
var subject = "TestMail";
var to = new EmailAddress("test#abc.com, "Example User");
var plainTextContent = "This is body";
var htmlContent = "";
var msg = MailHelper.CreateSingleEmail(from, to, subject, plainTextContent, htmlContent);
client.SendEmailAsync(msg).Wait();
The mails sent using this code are not visible in sent items of my mail box. What is the possible solution to this? Thanks in advance.
When you send the email it uses SMTP directly to sendgrid. When you send via Google they will automatically add it to your outbox. To do the same when someone else sends the message you would have to manually place a copy of the sent message in your outbox using IMAP.
What is the possible solution to this?
You could use SendGrid's BCC option will allow you to BCC an email address, in this case your mail account, with every email sent.
Go to your SendGrid Account>Manage>Settings>Mail Settings and turn on the BCC option.
Note: With this setting turned on, you will be charged an extra email for every email you send. So reclick on Manage and you will see the popup message.
Here is Send mailbox snapshot:
I am trying to send message from server email to my gmail

WebMail.EnableSsl = true;

WebMail.Password = "******";
WebMail.From = "mail#marekjedrysiak.com";
WebMail.Send("marekjedrysiak1#gmail.com", "Message from server",null);
then coming this message :
Please help :(
This isn't an ASP.NET or C# related problem, your domain doesn't have an MX record. You can confirm this by checking http://www.mxtoolbox.com.
I see that your domain is registered with Tucows (Hover). In order to change your MX records:
Log in to your Hover account. If you have multiple domain names, select your marekjedrysiak.com domain.
Click the DNS tab.
Click Add New.
For Record Type, select MX.
Enter the address of your mail server.
Click Save.
If you need more help setting up or debugging your mail service, you should contact Hover's support. They can also advise you on what exactly to enter as the address of your mail server.

Introdution
I am currently working a system develop with C#.
The system is about request approval.
When a request made, system will send email to user ask for response.
User's response will as simple as approve, reject or request update.
Question/Problem
Is it possible to have a button (approve or reject) in email content which allow user to response to system with only one click but without open browser?
Or, Is it possible to create button in email content which enable user to click to create new email with pre-set subject and recipient like following:
subject: request id - 123 - action - approve
to: response#system.com
as response email for user to send.
Then system can then recognize the email received and perform required back-end process.
Research Done
Research 1
What I currently found was outlook appointment email.
it done like second solution create new email with content for user send a response.
But, it only have options accept, decline and tentative.
And, I am not sure is blackberry support it like outlook.
The following is the blog found to create appointment email:

Research 2
The following website teach you how to create hyperlink in email content which can create new email with pre-populate subject, body, and recipient
https://community.articulate.com/discussions/building-better-courses/hyperlink-to-create-an-already-written-email
However, No test had perform in blackberry yet.
Appreciate for any suggestion from you guys and I willing to try.
Is it possible to sent an email with button which can click to create
email with some pre-set content?
Yes, this is possible, see the System.Net.Mail code in the .NET framework.
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.net.mail(v=vs.110).aspx
You can also see this StackOverflow question about how this is used.
Send e-mail via SMTP using C#
MailMessage mail = new MailMessage("you#yourcompany.com", "user#hotmail.com");
SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient();
client.Port = 25;
client.DeliveryMethod = SmtpDeliveryMethod.Network;
client.UseDefaultCredentials = false;
client.Host = "smtp.google.com";
mail.Subject = "this is a test email.";
mail.Body = "this is my test email body";
client.Send(mail);
Finally, your code should fire a serverside post on button click to have the server take care of sending the email. If data needs to be posted to the server, you may want to consider putting this data in a form input, which will post to your controller. You can then take that data and build the email with the example I provided in the links.
I am developing a Windows8 Metro App using c# xaml and I have to send the app link as an e-mail to someone using the share contract.
What I have tried is
private void RegisterForShare()
{
DataTransferManager dataTransferManager = DataTransferManager.GetForCurrentView();
dataTransferManager.DataRequested += new TypedEventHandler<DataTransferManager, DataRequestedEventArgs>(this.ShareLinkHandler);
}
private void ShareLinkHandler(DataTransferManager sender, DataRequestedEventArgs e) {
DataRequest request = e.Request;
request.Data.Properties.Title = "Sharing My Link";
request.Data.Properties.Description = "Add a link (URI) to share";
var _Uri = new Uri("https://login.live.com/");
Windows.System.Launcher.LaunchUriAsync(_Uri);
}
And also,
void App_QuerySubmitted(Windows.ApplicationModel.DataTransfer.DataTransferManager sender, Windows.ApplicationModel.DataTransfer.DataRequestedEventArgs args)
{
App.SettingsFlyout.Equals(args.Request, ApplicationExecutionState.Running);
}
But it works in a way where the specified link just opens and not a feature where the email of the link could be sent to soemone.
Any suggestions or solutions please?
While you can use the share charm to let the user sent text if you want to the user to definitely send email (as opposed to Twitter / Facebook) then you should use the mailto protocol.
await Launcher.LaunchUri(new Uri("mailto://test#address.com?subject=email"));
There's no built-in API for sending emails. Microsoft recommend to use share charm to send the email. Though if you want to send email via you need to go for commercial library called Mail.dll
Try this
var mailto = new Uri("mailto:?to=recipient#example.com&subject=Your subject&body=Your text");
await Windows.System.Launcher.LaunchUriAsync(mailto);
I have a small email application that lets a user build a message from checkboxes and then send the message as an email. I am trying to add an image to the email, i.e. a logo or signature. The application worked fine but as I was reseaching getting the images into the email, I found that I should be using System.Net.Mail instead of Interop. So I changed my email class to the code below. Now I'm not recieving the emails. I'm assumeing this is because the code is set-up for a server and I just want to run this on my local machine. This is just something I'm playing with to help me understand some concepts so real world use is not going to be a factor. I just want to be able to test my little program on my Outlook email account locally. My code is as follows...
using System;
using System.Net.Mail;
using System.Net.Mime;
namespace Email_Notifier
{
public class EmailSender:Notification
{
string emailRecipient = System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings ["emailRecipient"];
public void SendMail(string message)
{
try
{
string strMailContent = message;
string fromAddress = "MyApp#gmail.com";
string toAddress = emailRecipient;
string contentId = "image1";
string path = (#"C:Libraries/Pictures/Logo.gif");
MailMessage mailMessage = new MailMessage(fromAddress, toAddress);
mailMessage.Subject = "Email Notification";
LinkedResource logo = new LinkedResource( path , MediaTypeNames.Image.Gif);
logo.ContentId = "Logo";
// HTML formatting for logo
AlternateView av1 = AlternateView.CreateAlternateViewFromString("<html><body><img src=cid:Logo/><br></body></html>" + strMailContent, null, MediaTypeNames.Text.Html);
av1.LinkedResources.Add(logo);
mailMessage.AlternateViews.Add(av1);
mailMessage.IsBodyHtml = true;
SmtpClient mailSender = new SmtpClient("localhost");
mailSender.Send(mailMessage);
}
catch (Exception e)
{
Console.WriteLine("Problem with email execution. Exception caught: ", e);
}
return;
}
}
}
You specify mailSender = new SmtpClient("localhost");.
Have you set up an SMTP server on your local machine? If not, you will need to do so to use SmtpClient. Otherwise, specify a hostname other than localhost, perhaps using your Gmail account as specified here, bearing in mind you will need to configure it for authentication and SSL.
See also the documentation for SmtpClient.
There are also one or two other issues I can see with your code - but let's deal with these after getting simple mail sending working.
if your problem is that you don't have a smtp server you are talking to on your machine, you will see an exception rather than just silently not having your email delivered (which i believe is what you are seeing given that you did not list an exception, but not completely sure). it could be that you are successfully delivering to your local smtp server, but it is failing to send the mail on. if you have the iis smtp server installed and that is what you are trying to use to send the mail, you can see failed email messages in the subdirectories of C:\Inetpub\mailroot. there is a badmail subdirectory that should have failed deliveries.
if you are on windows 7, it doesn't support the iis smtp server. an alternative for having an smtp server on your machine that doesn't actually deliver the email but does show you everything that has come through for any email address is http://smtp4dev.codeplex.com/. even if i do have the iis smtp server available in my operating system, i prefer this for development needs.
