Getting irrklang - to work in sharpdevelop - c#

I have downloaded the irrKlang sound library, and since I'm using C# with sharpdevelop I have:
a) Added a reference to the DLL such that irrKlang.NET4 appears under References in the project tree.
b) Added the statement 'using IrrKlang.NET4;' to my code, which corresponds exactly to one of the example programs provided.
When I try to compile, SD tells me that the type or namespace name NET4 doesn't exist (are you missing an assembly reference).
If I change the using statement to 'using IrrKlang;' as (rather confusingly) appears in another .net example program, my application compiles but I get the runtime error "Error: Could not load file or assembly 'irrKlang.NET4, Version .... or one of it's dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format".
What is going on here? Any ideas?

It looks like that assembly was not constructed properly
instead of
using irrKlang.Net4;
change it to
using irrKlang;
and all is well :)

IrrKlang comes preloaded with various versions for different .NET distributions - both x32 an x64. Make sure you're using the correct one, also set your target build for the corresponding .NET version you're using...
And yes, you should be doing :
using IrrKlang;
.just an idea...

I am trying to go through this tutorial for on making sounds with waves using C#:

The first sample code it has you run is this, which is supposed to play a .wav file:

In my code, the filepath and name of the .wav file was replaced with a different one, but otherwise the code is identical. However, I get an error regarding the second line of code: error CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Devices' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft.VisualBasic' (are you missing an assembly reference?)
Without the Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices call working, I have no way of running even the first exercise in the tutorial, and definitely no way of further progressing in using C# for sound manipulation.
I was expecting the code to run and play the .wav file. However, I got the error message instead.
As part of debugging, I came across this post on the Microsoft website:

I'm not sure what to make of it. It seems like it's saying it could be solved by upgrading to .Net 5 or higher, but I'm already using .Net 5. It also seems like it saying that Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices was made obsolete with .Net Core 3.0, so I'm not sure how upgrading would make it easier to use something that was made obsolete.
It also says that certain functionality in Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices has equivalent functionality that can be called by other means. It gives specific replacement calls for Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices.Clock and Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices.Ports, but nothing for Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices.Audio, which is what I want to use in my code.
I have tried this in both Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code and get the same errors either way.
With .NET Core, you generally add references via NuGet packages. There is no NuGet package for Microsoft.VisualBasic.Forms.dll, which the documentation clearly states that type is declared in. To get that assembly reference, I believe that you need to replace this line in your project file:
<TargetFramework>net5.0</TargetFramework>
with these lines:
<TargetFramework>net5.0-windows</TargetFramework>
<UseWindowsForms>true</UseWindowsForms>
After doing that, you should see Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App.WindowsForms added under Dependencies -> Frameworks in the Solution Explorer and the relevant assembly is listed under that.
You have to use reference to "Microsoft.VisualBasic" in your project.
You have two way for do that :
1st way :
Right click on project references, select "Assemblys" => "Framework" and you can search (at top right) "basic" keyword, and select "Microsoft.VisualBasic" item.
After that you can compile your project and normally its works !
Screen for add references
2nd way :
Comment or delete "using Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices;" instruction.
The class "Audio" should be underline to red, hover with your mouse and you have option by IDE which let you "using Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices;".
References should be automatically added in project.
And now you can compile your project.

How to solve 'AlprNet' could not be found?

I looked for the answers here and there with no luck, so I decided to ask out.
I want to implement openalpr (open source Automatic License Plate Recognition)
repository on my own PC and I am following this video to accomplish the task. I have done all the steps he did and at the end, when I tried to build it but, in one of the .cs code there is CS0246 error that says:
Error CS0246 The type or namespace name 'AlprNet' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) number_plate c:\users\sohib\documents\visual studio 2015\Projects\number_plate\number_plate\Form1.cs
I could only find AlprNet in my D:\Projects\plate_recognition\openalpr-master\src\bindings\csharp\AlprNetTest and it is in .csproj format.
AlprNet is not in .dll format like other references so I cannot reference it in References.
I found some say that it might be because of different versions of .NET Framework platforms. I almost did nothing to check that, because I don't think it's related to .NET
In my mere opinion I should link that AlprNet.csproj to get its content, but I'm not sure. If someone can help get around this issue, I'd be very grateful.
If it's not a .net Assembly (dll) that's referenced and it's not a nuget package, then check that the code isn't expecting the Assembly to already be present in the Global Assembly Cache (If you have access to another developer machine where this works, this is easy to check).
Failing that, adding the .csproj to your .sln and then referencing it sounds like the way to go (provided you have access to that of course!).

I am *not* missing an assembly or reference

I'm using Visual Studio 2013, and I'm getting an error in my C# code that I can't figure out. I'm working with the Microsoft Kinect SDK, but I'll keep it general.
I downloaded the SDK, and I can get the included sample programs to build and run. But when I try to use the code in my own project, I get the
Type or namespace name 'Kinect' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft' (Are you missing an assembly reference)
error.
The thing is, I'm not missing an assembly or reference. I have it added to the project's references, and the path is valid. Also, the using statements at the top of the file will autocomplete to "Kinect" for me. If I start typing using Microsoft., Kinect will appear as an autocomplete option.
What are the steps to debugging an error such as this? Could it be a 32/64 bit issue? I tried using Dependency Walker to look at the Kinect DLL, and while it throws some errors (Error: Modules with different CPU types were found.), it doesn't show any issues that I don't see with other DLLs that I'm using successfully.
What are some other potential issues that might cause a problem with DLLs not being recognized?
1 - Try going to your project settings and verify the version of the .NET framework it uses.
The best to do is to choose the same version as the external libraries.
If it's a client profile, it will very often bring that exact problem. (I'm not sure what the client profile is, but I ended up never using it...)
2 - Check if any of your references got an exclamation mark.

Error when compiling with ANTLR in Visual C# Express 2010

I'm trying to build an application in C# that parses (using ANTLR) a C source file and returns me an AST with all the functions and stuff.

But after doing all that when I try and compile I get the following errors:
The type or namespace name 'GrammarRuleAttribute' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
I have antlr-3.4 and antlrworks-1.4.3.jar
I've used the dll that are in the \antlr-3.4\runtime\CSharp2\dist\DOT-NET-runtime-3.1.3.zip and just noticed now that they are supposed to be for ANTLR 3.1.3
What could cause my problem, I must say I'm a bit lost so many versions
i had the same problem. using the runtime libs provided here and CSharp3 target with antlr 3.4 worked for me. the problem is that the runtime libs comming with antlr-3.4 for CSharp2 target are out of date. i did not try, but maybe building the runtime libs from source is another option that could help.

Referenced class lib doesn't seem

I have a class lib and I referenced it to another windows project. I added its namespace to my Form.cs (using SaglikNetClassLib;). they are seem unknown when I want to access to classes. I can see their properties and methods. But the complier says "Error 7 The type or namespace name 'SaglikNetClassLib' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?), Do you have any suggestion?

Are you targeting the .net Client Framework? Visual Studio let's you add references to incompatible assemblies, but then gives exactly that error.
Check your project settings to make sure you're targeting the full .net framework.
Also, check that the Ilalcar class is public and not internal (which is the default if it's only declared as class without any modifier)
You probably need an using statement to put the class into scope.
using SaglikNetClassLib;
C# won't auto suggest it if the project has not been rebuild. Also make sure the class library project has been build before using it in code.
Intellisense seems to lag behind a bit at times. Simply pressing f5 (run) sometimes rebuilds the project completely and simply runs or gives a better error message.
