WPF MVVM Prevent tab change - c#

I am having a WPF Tab control with two tabs called "OFFLINE" & "ONLINE". When "ONLINE" tab click, I need to chek whether application is in online status or not.If (status ! = online)
display error message and prevent displaying "ONLINE" (2nd) tab and go to "OFFLINE" tab.

Question : Although i checked status and set tab to 0, it doesn't work.
always onclick of 2nd tab it will displayed ONLINE tab.

I would do this the other way around.
Have the ViewModel listen for network changes and expose a bool property Online.
Bind the Enabled property of the Tabpages to this bool.
That way you do not pollute the ViewModel with UI code.

Finally I found a solution for my problem:

This solved my problem.

You should implement INotifyPropertyChanged in your ViewModel. After changing the SelectedTabIndex notify View that selected index of tab control has been changed via PropertyChanged event of INotifyPropertyChanged.
And in your XAML do
SelectedIndex="{Binding SelectedTabIndex,Mode=TwoWay, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}

How to get WPF ListBox to update at start using ItemsSource?

I am very new to WPF and especially to data-binding but I'm trying to populate a ListBox with elements from an external resource, and trying to also follow the MVVM pattern. As such I am trying to avoid any code in my code-behind. I've looked over dozens of other questions similar to this but I feel I am missing something stupid as I cannot get my ListBox to generate with values. I have set the DataContext and then set the Binding for the ItemsSource to the correct property.
Question
How do I simply get this code to populate my empty ListBox when the application starts up?

secondary listbox not show data

i've two listbox binded with properties of my viewmodel, the first listbox shows LstEmpresas and work fine, when I select a item, the property SelectedCompany sets fine, all ok.
In SelectedCompany's set of my viewmodel, I call a method than pupulate a secondary list (LtsEjercicios) and work fine too (LtsEjercicios populate perfectly depends that item i've selected in the first listbox).
The secondary listbox binds his ItemSource from LtsEjercicios object that, across viewmodel, is updated.
But the secondary listbox NOT SHOW any data, i'm crazy yet.

Al Data provides from a MySQL Database from both tables (empresas y empresas_ejercicios).
My goal is, when user select a item in listbox1 (empresas) show exercices in listbox2 (empresas_ejercicios).
If exist other path to determine this operation, i'm all eyes!!!

Not sure if this is the only problem in your code, but what you're doing by setting

for both list boxes is creating a separate instance of the ViewModel for each list box. Now I guess if you make any changes in the first list box' ViewModel instance, these changes will not be reflected in the second list box because this one binds to a totally different ViewModel instance.
Instead, try globally binding the ViewModel to the whole window / page / user control / etc. (depending on whether you;re doing WPF, Windows Phone, etc.), and let the list boxes inherit it to ensure that only one ViewModel instance is involved:

Alternatively, you might as well instantiate the ViewModel once and store it as global resource:

Change GridView Item DataTemplate based on seperate ViewModel Property in WinRT

What I am attempting to do is have a collection of items shown in a GridView control and have the size of these items change based on a command executed by a separate button.
For example, having a row of buttons across the top reading “Small”, “Medium” and “Large” and having the items in the GridView respond to the relevant command by displaying its items in the relevant state.
I have the gridview declared like so

With Squares being an observable collection of Square objects that have a Title and a Fill property.
At first I went down the DataTemplateSelector route by declaring the following data templates in the Resources section of the page.

The idea being that the grid’s height and width properties are different for the relevant template. I declared the following data templates in the selector

And in the SelecteTemplateCore method I just returned the relevant template

However, with this method (and, by design of the DataTemplateSelector) the object being passed in is the item in the collection (the Square).
This is fine if I wanted each item to have a different appearance or something, but what I need is the template to change based on another property on the view model.
For this, I have the following
public string State {get; set;}
and this is set to “Small”, “Medium, or “Large based on a separate row of three buttons that execute a command that sets this property to the relevant value.
How do I relate the State property to changing to the relevant DataTemplate?
Another route I tried was to have a single Data template that used the VSM to animate the Height/Width properties in the relevant states. However I could not get the relevant animation to execute when the State changed.

There are a few ways to do this, I'm not sure which would be best. In any case, you'll need 1) a trigger, and 2) the action to update the template. I am leaning towards using PropertyChangedTrigger along with an InvokeCommandAction.

IDK ... after writing this out it seems a bit convoluted. Maybe you'd find it preferable to add a CurrentDataTemplate property to the view-model, and assign it by creating DataTemplates from strings using XamlReader.

detect selecteditem details in ListBox from MVVM app in windows phone

I have the following view.xaml and I bind a collection(SavedTracksCollection from viewmodel) to this list box and it displays the items in UI.

But i am not able to determine how do i capture the SelectedITem event when user selectes an item from the Listbox .Currently it doesn't trigger the set method of the SelectedITemTrack .Once i capture the event with the details of selected item binding "TrackUri" i want to go to a new page where i can play the track.
any idea how to fix the issue ?
The first solution I can think of, why not just use the SelectionChanged event on ListBox?

C#/WPF: Why is tab not focusing properly

I have a tab control

That is bound to Tabs in the ViewModel. I also used CollectionViewSource to focus tabs

When I have more that 1 tab, when I create new Tabs, tabs are focused properly
when there are no tabs, new tabs don't seem to be focused properly. notice the tab header
how might I fix this? or what is causing this behavior? the text box (tab content) is shown but the header don't render like its selected

It works with a fresh file/project ... hmm ... must be some related code ... I might redo that part ...
IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True" has no meaning unless you bind your TabControl.ItemsSource to an ICollectionView.
I can't tell if changing your binding from ObservableCollection to ICollectionView will solve your problem, but that is how I have setup my databound tabcontrol.
An alternative could be to expose a new property

and bind TabControl's SelectedItem to CurrentTabViewModel

Without the code, that initializes the single-tab-collection, it's just guessing.
A Workaround for you would be setting SelectedIndex of the tabView = 0 -> first tab is selected initially.
