Get Textblock value from selected ListBoxItem Template - c#

Does anybody know how I can extract the textblock text out of a listboxitem that has been generated at runtime?
I have a ListBoxItem that I custom made that contains a SymbolIcon and a textBlock.
I just need the textBlock value.

Again, if you see the "Textblock" that has a text binding source of Sing, that is what I need the text value of.


ListBox has a default selection behavior that depends on what the items source is (the type that's used for ItemsSource). So the SelectedItem is the type of your Model class, so you can get the text of the TextBlock from your selected model.
For example, your model class Name is Model, then you can get the text using the following code,

Is there a way to customize the default TextBox control in UWP? I need to make the 'X' button smaller

I have this app in UWP that has a TextBox. By some very complicated constraints, I cannot use anything else but the 'native' TextBox.
I need to remove the X button (or to make it as small as possible), be it in XAML or in C#. After my research I could not find anything apart from creating my own usercontrol, but that's not an option. (it doesn't make much sense to explain why).
Any help will be appreciated!

Can you access the TextBox's properties though the form? If so, you could comment out the DeleteButtonStyle like this. Hope it's what you are looking at.

All you need to do is right click on your TextBox, click "Edit Template" and then "Edit a Copy".
This should then give you the full template for the TextBox control in XAML.

Within that code there is a section for the Delete Button and a Font Size of 12 is defined. Simply change this to a smaller number in order to shrink its size then apply the style to your TextBox with the following

How do I vertically center text in a UWP TextBox?
This is the default UWP style, but this is what comes out:
I just want it to be centered.

It can also be done by modifying the TextBox style as follows:
Right-click on the TextBox, Edit Template => Create a Copy.

I want to change the background of a button during the time of press and release. I am coding in c# universal windows platform. I am trying the following but failed.

You can use the pointer events to do that, but you have to manually add the handlers via the AddHandler method as you'll need to also be able to handle previously handled pointer events to make sure the UI stays consistent.

These are the events you'll need to use: UIElement.PointerEnteredEvent, UIElement.PointerExitedEvent, UIElement.PointerCaptureLostEvent, UIElement.PointerCanceledEvent, UIElement.PointerReleasedEvent.
You'll need to adjust the background of your button depending on the source event, as some of these methods are fired when the user starts pressing a button, and others when the button is released.
Edit: here's an example to add the handlers for when the button is released:

How to make header of selected pivot bold in a Pivot in UWP?

I have a pivot with a header template, in this pivot.
The condition here is I would like to make the textblock bold only if the pivot is selected.

How to highlight a MenuFlyoutItem which is clicked/selected in UWP?

In the old wp 8.1 it used to automatically highlight the selected/clicked item in the flyout. But in the case of a MenuFlyout this is not happening in the new UWP.
How to achieve it in this scenario.

You need to edit the style of MenuFlyoutItem and MenuFlyoutPresenter. This link will guide you how to do that. [Edit MenuFlyoutItem ][1].
