Deploying C# application that uses VSTO - c#

I've recently built an application that pulls data from an Excel spreadsheet, which gets the data by running a macro. I put this already-existing Excel project into Visual Studio, and then wrote C# to do what I needed it to do. The issue I'm having is that when I deployed it to a network folder, there is no icon that runs the app. I ran the setup.exe and the .vsto, which both say were installed correctly, but can't find an icon that my users can press to run the app. I know I must be missing something simple. Any ideas?

WinForm .exe application loads a blank screen when published

I have an antique application using cefsharp.commons dll and I had to update a small part for the api communication.
The problem is that when I run the application on visual studio it works perfectly but when I publish, it installs but loads a blank screen instead of the usual UI.
I've searched different articles on ways to publish using clickonce and it seems the publish its correct.
I´ve also saw the logs on the event viewer application on windows and I have the following messages
Name of application failing: CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe, version 43.0.0.0 name of failing module: KERNELBASE.dll
also:
Excpetion: System.IO.FileNotFoundException
em CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.Program.Main(System.String[])
But the enviromment runs the previous version so i dont think my windows is missing any dependencies.
I would really appreciate any help.
best regards.
For some reason my application was not caring the cefsharp files when the clickonce application generates the dlls on the receiving computer.
The solution I had to do was manually add the dlls on the project folder (On the roots, besides having it on the reference added).
it is certainly some bug between generating the deploy dependencies and generating it back on installation.

Publishing C# application with VisualStudio

I have an application written in C# using VisualStudio 2015 and I want to publish it (eg give an exe or installer to somebody to use it on its PC). From VisualStudio there is possibility to click "publish" in solution explorer. The result files are:
-Application files (File folder)
-project.application (Application manifest)
-setup.exe (Application)
As far as I know "manifest" file should be some metadata, but I can execute that file and it gives me an installer (the same as setup.exe). After installing it runs an application (just like setup.exe). It makes me confused - what exactly project.application is? Can I delete it and use only setup.exe? What is the correct way of publishing an app? One last thing: why does the installer run installation on first execution and run an application on any other? I would expect to run installation any time (just like other software).
Thanks
It sounds like a ClickOnce application. See the following link for more information:
ClickOnce security and deployment
In a nutshell:
The installer copies the files to the users AppData and then runs the application.
There are also other options such as checking for updates from a network location or web address. Then when you run the application it checks for updates and uses the manifest to do an incremental update of the application files.

How to create .exe with C# winforms Application & MSSQL Database in Advanced Installer Architect

I'm facing severe issue while creating .exe file of my C# WinForms Application using Advanced Installer Architect. I'm not getting to know how exactly to create an exe file with MSSQL Database.
Kindly help me solve the issues:
I want MSSQL Database to be installed automatically on the system if it doesn't exist.
I want to know what should be the datasource in my application while building it.
I also want the tables should be created automatically t the now installed MSSQL Server Database.
Kindly help me with this issue!
If you are using Visual Studio then you already have exe created.
visual studio is much smarter. and its creating exe every time we run our win form application.
you can find exe in your projectfolder/bin/debug/yourexe.exe

visual studio 2013 needs internet connection to load symbols

I have created an application that needs to run on a standalone machine that has and cannot have any internet connection.
Everything was going well until I tried to run the app in visual studio 2013. I have found that I need to be connected to the internet when I first run the app in the IDE. The issue is that it seems to need to load symbols from application extensions. I have used a few extensions, xceed WPF toolkit, BrainboxesIO, Log4net, SnmpSharpNet. After the app runs once it doesnt need to happen again until I reboot my machine. How can I prevent the need for internet connectivity, firstly whilst developing in the IDE.
I have tried to deploy my app. I can create a setup project. But as soon as I use the configuration manager to go to release, I lose reference to the same extensions. If I create a .msi in debug the app runs, but again needs the internet when it first runs. I can then disconnect and it runs provided I don't reboot, which is obviously not what I need.
Anyone have any idea what I'm not doing right?

Publish Winforms Application to a website

I've built a Winforms Application, and I want to publish it. I'd like to have a link on a website https://sites.google.com/site/satsavvyboardgame/home where I can have the user download the application and have it install on their computer. So far, I haven't found any way to wrap everything up in one package, or successfully publish to the web. What are the specifications for the URL to publish to the web?
Is there any way to package everything into one item (the site won't allow me to upload/download folders), so that the user could download one item, then run that or something in it?
Is there another way to do this that I haven't seen?
I'm using C# Visual Studio 2010 Express, and my application has the code and a couple of XML files that I need to run. All are part of the project, and run fine when I install from a file using the CD publish settings.
I've never published an application before, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
You have 2 general options:
use "ClickOnce" which will enable automatic updates each time the user click to install and have several other benefits such as less problems with priviliges.
Use "Windows-Installer", which allows you more control of how to do and what to do during the installtion phase. However, shamefully, Package & Deployment project types do not exist anymore in vs2012. there are several 3rd party packages you can work with to create your setup-project.
The ClickOnce is preferable if what the user download is a just a simple standalone game application for example.. the MSI is for the more "rich" applications that should make extensive usage in the machine registry and etc..
The table in this link will give you the data you need to make a decision:
