gstreamer-sharp compilation : where to find glib-sharp 2.99.4? - c#

I am running into a lot of trouble lately with gstreamer-sharp. I fail to compile it.
I am downloading the source from this github repo : https://github.com/gstreamer-sharp/gstreamer-sharp
The ./autogen.sh command fails with the following error
configure: error: Package requirements (glib-sharp-3.0 >= 2.99.4) were not met:
Requested 'glib-sharp-3.0 >= 2.99.4' but version of GLib is 2.99.3
So then I downloaded gtk-sharp from their repo (https://github.com/mono/gtk-sharp) because I could not find version 2.99.4 on my debian distrib.
I built it without issues, and installed it too. I have indeed the glib-sharp.dll amongst other, and I've installed it. But I still get the same error.
I even tried this command
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/home/qrthur/build/gtk-sharp ./autogen.sh
Where I am certain I have my glib-sharp dll. But it still fails with the same error.
Some people managed to compile gstreamer-sharp-0.99 ?

For gstreamer-sharp 0.99 you will need gtk-sharp 2.99.2 If you want to compile gstreamer-sharp master you will need gtk-sharp master as well.

com.android.tools.r8.CompilationFailedException

When trying to build my Xamarin project in Visual Studio 2022 I am receiving this error:
java.lang.RuntimeException: com.android.tools.r8.CompilationFailedException: Compilation failed to complete, origin: obj\Debug\120\lp\100\jl\bin\classes.jar : com/google/android/gms/measurement/internal/zzai.class
My build log shows this:
Error in obj\Debug\120\lp\100\jl\bin\classes.jar:com/google/android/gms/measurement/internal/zzai.class:
Type com.google.android.gms.measurement.internal.zzai is defined multiple times: obj\Debug\120\lp\100\jl\bin\classes.jar:com/google/android/gms/measurement/internal/zzai.class, obj\Debug\120\lp\101\jl\bin\classes.jar:com/google/android/gms/measurement/internal/zzai.class
I have used 7zip to extract the specified zzai.class file however I don't know what to do from here. Trying to edit the file in notepad++ just shows noninterpretable code.
I fixed the issue by uninstalling unnecessary NuGet packages for Xamarin.GooglePlayServices.Measurement, only keeping the dependent packages required for Xamarin.Firebase.Analytics:
Xamarin.GooglePlayServices.Measurement
Xamarin.GooglePlayServices.Measurement.Api
Xamarin.GooglePlayServices.Measurement.Sdk

AddictedCS SoundFingerprinting giving netstandard error

I am attempting to use AddictedCS SoundFingerprinting (https://github.com/AddictedCS/soundfingerprinting).
When I download any recent version and build with Visual Studio 2019 I get the expected output with no errors or warnings (SoundFingerprinting.dll).
The issue is that when I attempt to call functionality from the DLL in a .net console application I get errors relating to netstandard referencing.
I've attempted to add a new reference manually as the error message suggests, but get no further - same error occurs.
Here is my code, taken straight from the SoundFingerprinting example:

I attempted this on my desktop PC running Windows 10, and on my Surface Pro 6 running Windows 10. I also attempted this using VS2017. The result was the same each time.
Also tried to use the library in Unity3D which caused a crash with no prompt or stacktrace output.

I encountered exactly the same problem today. What fixed it for me was simply downloading the latest version of protobuf-net from nuget:
Install-Package protobuf-net -Version 3.0.101
Also, please don't paste pictures of code but the code itself next time.

Error MCG0004:InternalAssert Assert Failed when building UWP app in release mode

I have an UWP app written in C# which builds (VS 14.0.25425.01 Update 3 on Windows 10.0.14393, target version of the project is build 14393) and runs in Debug mode, but fails to build in Release mode with the following error:
Microsoft.NetNative.targets(640,5): error : MCG0004:InternalAssert Assert Failed: field not found during [UNKNOWN]
There are no further details, except for two warnings before, which I am not sure whether they are related to the problem:
Resources.System.Linq.Expressions.rd.xml(35): warning : ILTransform : warning ILT0027: Method 'CreateLambda' within 'System.Linq.Expressions.Expression' could not be found.
Resources.System.Linq.Expressions.rd.xml(91): warning : ILTransform : warning ILT0027: Method 'ParameterIsAssignable' within 'System.Linq.Expressions.Expression' could not be found.
Any suggestions what the issue could be related to?
This error will occur if you're using the Beta package for .NET UWP tools with VS 2015. The Beta package is only supported on 2017 as there are changes to how deployment/debugging work that we rely on. You should be able to avoid the issue by downgrading from "Microsoft.NETCore.UniversalWindowsPlatform": "5.3.0-beta2" to "Microsoft.NETCore.UniversalWindowsPlatform": "5.2.2"

How to resolve dependencies with aspnet vnext on a mac?

In trying to build NuGet3, I'm getting the following error:
~/Projects/NuGet3-dev/src/NuGet.CommandLine/project.json(22,46): error: The dependency fx/Microsoft.Build.Framework >= 14.0.0 could not be resolved.
I have no idea why it wouldn't be resolved, since according to
gacutil -l
I have it:
Microsoft.Build.Framework, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a
I looked at everything I could find about this issue, but it's almost entirely Visual Studio and Windows based resolutions, and nothing seems to apply to my situation...
How to make this resolve?

Use Windows. This project is not designed to be built on Mono. It is integrated with Windows tooling.
Under POSIX systems (thought, some true operating system):
In short, the dependency is resolved using DNX or dotnet (said M$ .Net Core), and its restore command.
The fx/ stands for framework, just drop the prefix, it should be the same. I sow these kind of notations disappear, when passing to DNX. Just try and install it using the DNX process.
since MSBuild targets and props for DNX are not available, the xbuild script from Mono won't work.
You'll have to use one of
the "deprecated" dnvm.sh script and dnx/dnu commands to restore and then build each sub project.
Note: that yet isn't anymore available at download, and the call to dnvm update-self relaces the script by a "404" ...
The "Microsoft .NET Core Shared Framework Host", "dotnet" (that I don't use)
It should mostly work, if you've got Dnx, try this command line, from the src sub-dir of the NuGet3 source code:

For me, using Debian-8, there are build failures:
NuGet.CommandLine.XPlat
NuGet.Configuration, but it succeeds for the "net451" framework

YANote: If code cannot be transformed anywhere but by M$, this is cannot be source code for me : I cannot not use it as a source. This is a secret code, a private code ... something to throw away, and that probably no one cares.

Compiling mono-2.6 (or later) on Ubuntu?

I am having to building mono from sources, since the Ubuntu package from badgerports is outdated (does not support .Net 4.0)
This is what I have done so far (mostly following instructions here):
cloned mono git repository
switched to branch tagged 2.6 (git checkout mono-2-6)
installed minimal mono on my machine so mono and mcs are available on machine
run ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr/local
run make
After a few modules compile correctly, I get this error:

Has anyone managed to build mono-2.6 (or later) on Ubuntu?
I've used the scripts provided at integratedwebsystems successfully to compile a recent version of mono on my system and run .net 4.0 applications.

Joe Shields is packaging Mono 2.10 and is patching everything to default to .NET 4.0 for Ubuntu, you might want to poke him on twitter #directhex.
